Olivier Kayumba on Monday, March 17, presented his letters of credence to Central African Republic (CAR) President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Rwanda with residence in Bangui. ALSO READ: Rwanda, CAR prime ministers meet to strengthen countries’ cooperation Kayumba, who has been working as the head of Rwanda’s diplomatic mission in the Central African Republic was proposed as ambassador in the same jurisdiction in December last year. He previously worked in the Ministry of Emergency Management as the Permanent Secretary. Rwanda and the Central African Republic have maintained strong diplomatic relations, with Rwanda playing a key role in peacekeeping missions under the United Nations. Rwanda's also committed to supporting the CAR in security sector reforms that include training if CAR armed forces.
