After losing their semi-final match against USA, Rwanda U20 national handball team returned to the court on Sunday, March 16, and defeated Bulgaria 48-31. The victory secured the team a bronze medal at the Intercontinental IHF Trophy, held at the Palace of Youth and Sports in Pristina, Kosovo. The team entered the first period determined to secure a spot on the podium, finishing the period with a 21-18 lead over Bulgaria. In the decisive second period, the African champions, Rwanda, dominated the game, adding 27 goals to secure the victory and a third position finish. Yves Kayijamahe was named Man of the Match after the win.
