While Ariel Wayz has consistently delivered quality music, this album marks a significant entry in R&B production. Through this shift, the singer uses her voice to address the complexities and challenges of modern relationships, giving the album a raw, emotional depth. What makes this collaboration significant is the fact that it unites different generations of producers, lending the project a sense of timelessness and depth. Sana begins with intimate electric guitar chords and is immediately followed by the tagline Respect More by Pastor P. From the very start, the song demands the listener’s attention, drawing them into the emotional space of the album. Ariel’s opening lines, Hey Lover Lover, you’re my lover, never want to lose you never... reveal that this album is more than just a collection of songs—it’s an intimate journey into the complexities of love. The second track, 3 in the Morning, features rising star Kent Larken and is produced by Muriro. This collaboration has quickly become a fan favorite, thanks to its romantic, hot vibe that recalls the global R&B greats like Tank, Chris Brown, and R. Kelly. The chemistry between Ariel and Kent is deep, and their voices complement each other attractively throughout the song. Tracks number three (Izee) and four (Made for You) bring a fusion of R&B and pop sounds, with Kivumbi King making a surprise appearance. Kivumbi’s deep, poetic lyrics add another layer of spice to the album, as he effortlessly flows over the beats. For instance, on the track Izee, the duo delves deeper into the album’s theme, which revolves around love, loss, and the emotional rollercoaster of relationships. The raw emotion in Kivumbi’s voice enhances the track’s depth, making it one of the standout moments on the album. As the album progresses, Ariel returns to the sounds that made her a household name, particularly in the world of Afrobeats. In tracks seven (Icyatsi n’Ururo) and eight (Side Chick), she reintroduces producers Santana and Ayo Rush—long-time collaborators who have shaped much of her viral success. These two songs strike a balance between soul, Afrobeats, and Afropop, creating a rhythm that makes it impossible not to move. Track nine, Dee, produced by former band mate The Major, is another standout work whose modern Afro-pop beat pairs perfectly with Ariel’s powerful vocals, creating a track that feels both confident and empowering. On Dee, Ariel’s voice displays a newfound sense of self-assurance, something that is particularly refreshing in a male-dominated industry. It’s a moment of pure confidence—a reminder that Ariel is ready to take what’s hers. The final collaboration of the album, Feel It, features Angel Mutoni, one of Rwanda’s few established female rappers. This track highlights the importance of female empowerment and solidarity within the country’s music scene. Produced by 10 sound engineers and featuring instrumental contributions from some of Rwanda’s top musicians, including Arnaud Gasige and Jules the guitarist, Hear to Stay is a meticulously crafted debut album that showcases Ariel Wayz’s unique voice and bold approach to music. It is a rich body of work that deserves more respect.
