A dynamic mix of performances, in and out of the country, summed up a weekend of vibrant music on the stages from Rwanda’s top music acts. The Ben joined Bwiza who launched her album 25 Shades on her maiden concert in Brussels, Belgium, while Chriss Eazy celebrated the International Women’s Day with members of Rwandan diaspora in Sweden. On the other side, rap star Bushali and fast rising R&B artistes Yampano put some flashes on Amahoro Stadium at Amahoro Stadium during the Rwandan derby between APR FC and Rayon Sports on Sunday. The Ben, Bwiza in Brussels Bwiza and The Ben delivered electrifying performances at the former’s “25 Shades” album launch concert in Brussels on March 8. During the concert, Bwiza collected over Rwf10 million worth of albums with The Ben pledging to buy two copies for Rwf 2 million. The KIKAC Music-signed singer plans to officially released her album on March 28, but her supporters in Brussels were able to see her performing most of the songs live. The concert, which attracted large crowds, also featured DJs Toxxyk and Princess Flor, with hosts Lucky and Ally Soudy leading the show as official MCs. During his performance in Brussels, The Ben and his wife, Uwicyeza Pamella, were surprised by their fans, who gifted them baby clothes, hinting at their expected child. And, when questioned on the baby’s gender, the ‘Plenty’ composer took his wife on stage and serenaded her with his song True Love, officially announcing that they are expecting a “baby girl.” Chriss Eazy in Sweden Producer and singer Chriss Eazy impressed fans in Stockholm, Sweden, delivering an electric performance at an International Women's Day concert, where he shared the stage with Ugandan star Spice Diana. Bushali and Yampano rock 1000 hills derby stage Rappers Bushali and Yampano entertained football fans who attended the 1000 Hills Derby stage at Amahoro Stadium, adding to the already charged atmosphere as APR FC took on domestic rivals Rayon Sports on Sunday, March 9. Rayon Sports maintained their top spot in the Rwanda Premier League after the pair played a goalless draw. Dressed in green, Yampano left fans wondering where his allegiance lay between Rayon Sports’ blue and white and APR’s black and white. Nonetheless, he wasn’t at the stadium to take sides but to give the fasn a show with performance of hits like Meterese, Ngo, among others. Similarly, Bushali took the stage with his signature Kinyatrap style, delivering high-energy performances of his popular tracks in including Kinyatrap itself. The event was hosted by renowned radio personalities Anitha Pendo and Jado Max, who kept the crowd entertained throughout the derby. The mix of football action and music performances created an unforgettable experience for fans, further fueling the rivalry between the two top teams in Rwanda’s football scene.
