In the heart of every artist lies a vital moment that starts up their creative journey. For Eloge Chris Hakizuwera, this spark came during his childhood, where a simple camera became his window to the world. Through his lens, he captured the essence of life from intimate family gatherings to sweeping landscapes and objects that held extraordinary beauty. This early fascination with photography wasn't just about taking pictures; it was about preserving emotions, freezing moments in time, and telling stories that would otherwise fade into memory. Now, Chris, Hakizuwera is determined to revolutionize the art world with an innovative approach to gallery spaces. His vision extends beyond the conventional white walls of traditional galleries, reaching into spaces where people naturally gather. By integrating art into hospitality venues like hotels, coffee shops, and social hubs, he's creating a new paradigm for art appreciation that makes creativity more accessible and engaging for everyone. I wanted to create a space where people could naturally engage with art in places they already frequent with a mission to transform everyday venues into dynamic galleries, he told The New Times. His curated collections are thoughtfully selected not just for their aesthetic appeal, but for their ability to tell compelling stories and create meaningful connections with viewers. Each piece is chosen to enhance its environment while inviting observers to engage with art on their own terms. Set to launch in March, 2025, these innovative gallery spaces, Hakizuwera promise they will offer an immersive experience that breaks down the formal barriers often associated with traditional art galleries. “Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate and purchase artwork in a relaxed, welcoming environment, making the art-buying experience more approachable and personal,” he said. He further added that the spaces are designed to encourage natural interaction with art, allowing people to discover and connect with pieces that resonate with them while going about their daily activities. Looking ahead, Hakizuwera has ambitious plans to establish ‘Eloge Arts’. Within five years, he envisions transforming his brand into a globally recognized name, with gallery spaces spanning multiple continents. His expansion strategy includes establishing a presence in international markets, participating in prestigious global exhibitions, and creating a worldwide platform for art appreciation and acquisition. “This global reach will enable me to connect diverse audiences with compelling artworks while building a community of art enthusiasts across borders,” he said.
