Tour du Rwanda 2025 hits its climax on Sunday, March 2, with a 74km circuit race starting and finishing at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC). It is the seventh and final stage of the race which will determine the winner. It is the first time this circuit is used in Tour du Rwanda, as it will serve as a preview for the UCI Road World Championships, held in Kigali from September 21-28. Tour du Rwanda 2025 has generated significant excitement among Rwandan citizens acorss the country, building anticipation for the upcoming world championships. Heading into the final stage, predicting the overall winner remains challenging. Fabien Doubey (TotalEnergies) currently holds the yellow jersey, having regained it from teammate Joris Delbove after Saturday’s Stage 6. Eritrea attacked the final climb to Canal Olympia, resulting in Nahom Araya's stage win. This performance followed Henok Mulubrhan's earlier victory. Despite Mulubrhan's third-place general classification standing, Eritrea has not yet taken the overall lead. Bike Aid leads the team classification, with Milan Donie in third place overall and Yoel Habteab holding the best young African rider jersey. However, Bike Aid has yet to win a stage or hold the yellow jersey. TotalEnergies has consistently performed well, with Doubey and Delbove both exchanging the yellow jersey recently at different points. However, Doubey's slim five-second lead over Mulubrhan makes the final stage unpredictable. Stage 6 saw the elimination of Moritz Kretschy (Israel-Premier Tech) and Enea Sambinello (UAE Team Emirates Gen Z), bringing the total number of riders to 64 for the final stage. It also left Rwandan rider Moise Mugisha sanctioned with a number of point penalties and fines over violating the race’s rules and regulations.
