Stage Five of Tour du Rwanda, a 144km journey from Rusizi to Huye, will take place on Friday, February 28. The stage begins with a descent from Rusizi to Gisakura, followed by a climb covering 32.2km. Riders will then traverse Nyungwe National Park for 89 km, leading to Kitabi. From there, a descent to Nyamagabe (116.3km) precedes the final 27.7km to the finish line in Huye. Stage Four saw Joris Delbove (TotalEnergies) claim both the stage victory and the yellow jersey, breaking away from the peloton and holding off Brady Gilmore (Israel-Premier Tech) by three seconds. However, Henok Mulubrhan (Eritrean National Team) remains a consistent threat, regularly placing in the top five. Israel-Premier Tech, one of the top three teams in the tour, will also be looking to capitalise on any opportunity. Tour du Rwanda organisers have emphasized longer stages in this edition, ensuring a level playing field for all teams. Rwandan riders, including Eric Nsengiyumva (Java Inovatec) and team captain Didier Munyaneza, have been aggressive in their attacks, but have yet to secure a top-five finish.
