A first minute goal from winger Ramadhan Niyibizi made the difference as APR FC defeated Gasogi 1-0 at Kigali Pele Stadium on Thursday in a Peace Cup quarterfinal first leg game. Niyibizi fired home within 60 seconds as the visitors got to a bright start in the cagey encounter. Darko Novic’s team looked the better side as they dominated possession but couldn't convert most of their chances into goals as Gasogi remained resolute at the back. Djibril Ouatarra and Lamine Bah were a torn in the flesh of Gasogi with their good interposition play in attack. Despite both teams creating chances, it was Niyibizi's early strike which settled the game. The return fixture is slated for Wednesday, March 5 at the same venue.
