Stage 4 of Tour du Rwanda 2025 takes place this Thursday, February 27, covering 95.1km from Rubavu to Karongi. The stage begins in Rubavu, with riders climbing towards Kaberamo and through Gishwati-Mukura National Park (30.8km). A descent follows to Gisiza (50.2km), before another climb to Rutsiro and a descent to Rubengera (78km). The final 20.1km leads to the finish in Karongi. With 68 riders remaining after the elimination of Joshua Dike (South Africa), the chances for a Rwandan victory in the UCI 2.1 upgraded Tour du Rwanda are dwindling. No Rwandan rider has claimed a stage win in the past six editions. Riders of TotalEnergies and Israel-Premier Tech are dominating the general classification, though Henok Mulubrhan (Eritrean National Team) remains a strong challenger. However, this year's Tour du Rwanda emphasizes team collaboration, a strength demonstrated by TotalEnergies and Israel-Premier Tech. Fabien Doubey (TotalEnergies) holds the yellow jersey with a total time of 7 hours, 2 minutes, and 22 seconds after three stages (391.9km) Israel-Premier Tech are also poised to capitalize on any opportunity to take the lead. Brady Gilmore, a two-time stage winner, and teammate Moritz Kretschy are consistently in the top 10, as are Doubey and Joris Delbove (TotalEnergies). In 2023, Mulubrhan won the stage from Rubavu to Gicumbi. His third-place finish in Stage 3 of this year's edition, behind fellow Eritreans Yoel Habteab, indicates that the Eritrean team is a strong contender alongside TotalEnergies and Israel-Premier Tech.
