Australian Brady Gilmore of Israel-Premier Tech showed his class in the sprint when he rode his way to the finish line in Musanze to claim Tuesday’s second stage of Tour du Rwanda 2025. The 112.8km ride from Kigali to Musanze saw Gilmore finish victorious after 3 hours and 39 seconds. He will, however, have to give credits to his teammate Itamar Einhorn and Moritz Kretschy who fought prevented Lorrenzo Manzin of TotalEnergies from chasing him in the sprint only to finish in third place. Einhorn finished second which Kretschy came in fourth place. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies’ Fabien Doubey retained the yellow jersey, despite finishing Stage 2 in 21st place, just milliseconds behind the winner. Rwandan rider Shemu Nsengiyumva of Java Inovatec launched a valiant attack, breaking away from the peloton by 35 seconds with just 20km remaining. However, his efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, as the sprinters took over in the final kilometers. The highest-placed Rwandan rider in Stage 2 was Vainqueur Masengesho, who finished 12th. Stage 1 winner, Henok Mulubrhan of Eritrean National Team finished sixth, suggesting that the Eritrean team may have struggled to maintain their momentum. It was a team effort, said Lahav Davidzon, Israel-Premier Tech's team director. The team worked together, and with 4km left, we had faith in Brady, and he delivered. That was our strategy for today's stage. ALSO READ: Mulubrahan win stage 1 as Doubey grabs yellow jersey Gilmore was awarded by Amstel, one of Tour du Rwanda main sponsor for his stage win.
