For the first time in history, a global church event, Gather25, will be held in Rwanda, bringing together believers from around the world for prayer and worship. Scheduled to take place at BK Arena, Kigali, from March 1-2, this landmark event aims to unite the global church community in prayer, worship, repentance, and commissioning drawing inspiration from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20). The two-day gathering is designed to ignite worldwide evangelistic efforts, encouraging believers to share the Gospel within their communities. Open to followers of Jesus from all nations, denominations, and generations, Gather25 seeks to foster a historic movement of unity among Christians. Technology bridges the Global Church Addressing the members of the press on Monday, February 24, New Life Bible Church Pastor Dr. Charles Mugisha, emphasized the significance of this global event and the role of technology in making it possible. Since it’s impossible to gather everyone from across all continents physically, we’ve embraced technology to help us achieve this milestone, said Pr. Mugisha. This is just the beginning. While this marks the first Gather 25 event, it won’t be the last, you will soon hear about Gather 27, Gather 30, and so on. Spanning 25 hours, the event will begin with a church service in Dallas before continuing in Rwanda, symbolically covering all six continents. Rwanda, situated in the heart of Africa, was selected as the central host for this inaugural global gathering. Mugisha also highlighted that the BK Arena would function as a global broadcasting studio for the event. We’re amplifying the African Gospel voice, he said. For too long, we’ve primarily heard European and American Gospel voices. Now, it’s time for Africa to share its message with the world an incredible opportunity for the Rwandan church. A celebration of worship across continents According to Christian Life Assembly Pastor Hassan Kibirango, the BK Arena gates will open at 1 p.m. on March 1, with the Gather 25 broadcast starting at 2 p.m., led by worship artists from across the region. The lineup features renowned performers, including Nigerian gospel artist Tim Godfrey, Uganda’s Watoto Children’s Choir, and Burundian artists Apollinaire, Fabrice & Maya. Rwanda will be represented by notable musicians such as Aime Uwimana, Prosper Nkomezi, True Promises, and Cryso Ndasingwa, among others. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., attendees will join in celebration and worship, followed by the official Gather 25 production, which will be broadcast globally through various channels, including the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s largest Christian television network. As the broadcast transitions across continents, each region will host segments in its respective time zone, ensuring participation from all six continents. Diverse languages and a mission of compassion To accommodate a global audience, the event will feature translations in eight major languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, Arabic, and English. Advanced AI technology will facilitate real-time translations for a seamless experience. In addition to spiritual goals, Gather 25 aims to support a humanitarian cause. Offerings collected during the event will help provide health insurance for individuals in need. With all seats at BK Arena already secured to full capacity, this groundbreaking event is set to be a memorable milestone for the global Christian community.
