President Paul Kagame and International Cycling Union president David Lappartient, flagged off the 17th edition of Tour du Rwanda in Kigali, on Sunday, February 23. Belgian rider Aldo Taillieu who rides for Lotto Dstny Devo Team, claimed the prologue. He completed the 4.1 km individual time trial (ITT) course, clocking 3 minutes 48 seconds and 91 milliseconds. The best placed Rwandan rider in the prologue was Vainqueur Masengesho of Team Rwanda, who finished 31st, 23 seconds shy of winner Taillieu. The prologue saw a 52-second gap between the fastest and slowest riders.
