Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) led the women’s regular season standings until Round 10 of the national volleyball league's second phase when APR beat them in four sets to drop them to second place with 31 points. The ‘tax collectors’ on Friday, February 21, face yet another crucial test against leaders Police VC sit two points clear at the top with 33 points. The game will take place at Petit Stade Indoor Gymnasium. According to the volleyball federation’s schedule, each club plays seven away games and seven home games, totaling 14 matches. The top four teams advance to the playoffs. RRA has played 12 games, and have two game to play. A 3-0 or 3-1 victory against Police VC would earn them three points, potentially enough to reclaim the summit. “We are ready to get our top spot back,” said RRA captain Olive Nzamukosha. “Anything can happen, yes, but we have prepared for these games.” APR, who defeated RRA, also sit in third place with 31 points, having played one game more. A strong finish to the regular season could provide additional motivation. In the men's league, Police VC lead the charge with 32 points, followed by APR with 28 points. Both teams have two games left and Police VC need just one win and taking it at 3-0 or 3-1 set score, would hopefully secure the top spot in the regular season.
