The Rwanda international Ruboneka led the way and scored a double as APR FC thrashed Musanze FC 4-0 at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday, February 19, to set a date against Gasogi United in the next round of the tournament. “I was desperate to get a goal and I am happy that I scored two, but the most important thing is that my team has been qualified. It was great work from the team down to upfront” Ruboneka told the press after the match. He’s so good, even in the build-up to the goal, so he’s a really top player and we’re delighted to have him,” Novic said of Ruboneka. APR will play Gasogi United, who eliminated AS Muhanga with a 3-1 aggregate score, in the quarter-finals. In contrast, Police trounced Nyanza 3-0 in the round of 16's second leg to advance to the quarter-finals with a 4-2 overall score. The reigning champions will next face AS Kigali, who eliminated Vision with a 2-1 aggregate score. Elsewhere, Rayon Sports, who eliminated Rutsiro FC in the round of 16, will take on either Gorilla FC or City Boys who go head to head in the second leg on Thursday, at Kigali Pele Stadium. The pair had played a 1-all draw in the first leg.
