Rwandan residents can now access three more land services through Irembo, the , the government services electronic platform. The newly added services are first land registration, title transfer by succession, and title transfer by donation. The new development takes the number of land services offered through Irembo to nine. The development is in line with improving and fast-tracking land service delivery, according to the National Land Authority (NLA), which announced it on its X page, on Tuesday, February 18. The NLA said for those services that they will no longer be requested physically by submitting applications to sector or district land officers. ALSO READ: More land services now accessible through Irembo Previously, the platform offered services sucha loan agreement authentication, change of land use, title details update, sporadic registration, and title transfer. After the land service application has beenrequested it through Irembo platform (https://irembo.gov.rw), it will be immediately sent to Land Administration Information System – a centralised system for keeping and managing land records. After the file is processed and approved by a registrar of land titles, the applicant will receive a message via phone number or email, informing them that the service they requested, has been provided, and how they can download an electronic land title. ALSO READ: Electronic land certificates will curb frauds - NLA The land authority informed land service applicants that they can request them by themselves through Irembo – without necessarily having to rely on Irembo agents. Services that are already offered through Irembo include land subdivision, merging, rectification of boundaries and area correction, registration or splitting of condominium, authentication for loan agreement involving land, change of land use, title details update, and title transfer by sale.
