Wednesday, February 19 Police FC 3-0 Nyanza FC AS Kigali 1-1 Vision FC APR FC 4-0 Musanze FC Midfielder Jean Bosco Ruboneka scored two goals as APR FC thumped Musanze FC 4-0 at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday to qualify for the 2025 Peace Cup quarterfinals. The army side advanced to the next round after winning the two-legged round of 16 tie 4-0. The pair had played out a goalless draw in the first leg at Ubworoherane Stadium. Ruboneka doubled the home side’s lead in the 30th minute, assisted by Mamadou Sy before scoring his second goal in the 62nd minute to make it 3-0. Sy, who scored a match winner against AS Kigali on Sunday, turned from assisting to scoring the fourth in the 72nd minute as Darko Novic’s team eased past Musanze FC and progressed the quarterfinals. In other games, Police FC defeated Nyanza FC 3-0 to sail through with a 4-2 aggregate victory while AS Kigali secured their quarterfinal berth after eliminating Vision FC with a 2-1 aggregate win. Despite drawing 1-1 in the second leg, the Citizens had won the first leg 1-0. APR FC, Police FC and AS Kigali have now joined Rayon Sports, Mukura VS, Amagaju FC and Gasogi United. The last slot for the quarterfinals will be decided when Gorilla FC take on second tier side City Boys on Thursday at Kigali Pele Stadium. The dates for the draw for the quarterfinals are yet to be communicated.
