Kina Events, an event management wing of Kina Music record label, has unveiled plans to organize concerts dubbed ‘Moonlight Session’ on monthly basis. This follows the success of the ‘Moonlight Session’ concert which took place at Atelier du Vin on Friday, February 14. Musicians Platini P and Nel Ngabo led the stage at the concert which aimed at helping lovers to celebrate Valentine’s Day. According to Clement Ishimwe, the brains behind the concept, the ‘Moonlight Session’ aims to establish itself as a signature music experience that not only elevates live performances but also fosters community engagement while celebrating Rwandan and African musical talent. “This concept is envisioned as a premier live music experience designed to create an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere where music lovers can connect under the night sky. With a focus on quality performances and exceptional production, this monthly event will showcase some of the best local and regional talent, offering a unique entertainment experience,” Ishimwe told The New Times. “Our mission is to curate high-quality mini-concerts that blend exceptional performances, top-tier production, and a carefully curated ambiance, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees,” he further explained. Ishimwe said the first edition of ‘Moonlight Session’ exceeded expectations, with an impressive turnout which reaffirmed the demand for more live music experiences in Rwanda. “It gave us a clear message that people want more live music events from their favorite local artists, the way the turn up in numbers for the first edition was so motivating,” he said. Currently, the event is being hosted at Atelier du Vin but Ishimwe noted that Kina Music is open to exploring different venue options in the future to enhance the experience. “So far the venue is Atelier du Vin but in the future it might change. We are still open for ideas,” he said.
