Team Rwanda has received 12 road bikes from Ministry of Sports as they enter in the final preparations of the much-anticipated Tour du Rwanda 2025 which will run from February 23 through March 2. The ministry hopes that the bikes, which of Cannondale SuperSix Evo 2 Carbon Sonic brand which can help the riders to do better. “We are appreciating this support, they are very good bikes which will help our riders to do better and they are very nice equipment. This will hopefully boost the morale of our cyclists during the race,” Regis Gahuranyi, FERWACY executive director in charge of international relations, said. The new bikes arrived at the time a number of Rwandan cyclists have been claiming that old one were not good enough to help them compete with top cyclists coming from across the globe for Tour du Rwanda. The new bikes, according to Ferwacy, are manufactured with standards of bikes used by other professional teams. Team Rwanda has been training in high mountains and camping at Africa Rising Cycling Centre in Musanze District. With Tour du Rwanda now nine days away from kick off, it is planned that the team will shift to Bugesera next week for final preparations of the race. A total of 15 teams will participate in Tour du Rwanda 2025, which consists of eight stages that will be competed for across all provinces of the country. The longest stage of the 812-kilometer race is Rukomo of Gicumbi-Kayonza which is 158 kilometers long. Israel - Premier Tech (Israel) and TotalEnergies (France) are the only two professional team which will participate in Tour du Rwanda 2025.
