Over 650 athletes will participate in the second edition of the Rwanda National Track and Field Competitions that will be held on Saturday, February 15 at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. Organised by Rwanda Athletics Association (RAF), the tournament will feature both the men’s and women’s categories, which will be further divided into juniors and seniors’ competitions. ALSO READ: Athletics: Police, Sina clubs dominate 2024 national track and field series The seniors’ competitions will feature athletes over 20 years old, while the juniors will range from 13 and above. The athletes will compete in 54 different sports. The teams that are registered to participate in the tournament are APR Athletics Club, Police Athletics Club, UR-Huye Campus, Sina Gérard, Nyamasheke, Rutsiro, Nyaruguru, Kamonyi, G.S St. Aloys-Rwamagana, Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, EP Kinyinya, Kavumu AC, Ngororero, and Huye. There will also be individual competitors who are not part of teams. The competition will aim at tracing talents that will represent Rwanda at international showpieces including the African Under-18 and Under-20 Championship to be held in Nigeria, the Regional Championship to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the World Championship to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
