The draw for the second qualifying stage of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 was concluded in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, 13 February, as the seven competing sides learnt their path to the finals. The tournament will be hosted in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August. ALSO READ: CAF reschedules CHAN 2024 to August As part of the qualification format, Algeria has been granted a bye to the second round due to their top ranking from performances in the previous three TotalEnergies CAF CHAN tournaments. The draw for the first round of second qualifying stage is as follows: Matches 1 & 2: Comoros vs Malawi Matches 3 & 4: South Africa vs Egypt Matches 5 & 6: The Gambia vs Gabon The victor of the tie between Comoros and Malawi (Matches 1 & 2), and South Africa and Egypt (Matches three & four) will meet in the second qualifying round. The winner of that tie will advance to August’s finals. The winner of the matchup between The Gambia and Gabon (Matches five & six) will take on Algeria in the second qualifying round. The victor there also earns a place at the finals. The final draw for the competition has already taken place and is as follows, with the final two qualified teams joining Group C: GROUP A: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia GROUP B: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic GROUP C: Uganda, Niger, Guinea, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2 GROUP D: Senegal, Congo, Sudan, Nigeria
