Golfers from across Africa and beyond have started to jet in for the 2025 Rwanda Open scheduled to take place from February 12–15 at Kigali Golf Resort and Villas, Nyarutarama. The competition is expected to attract over 100 professional golfers and 50 elite amateurs, all competing for a $50,000 prize money and Rwf 5,000,000. So far, 17 professional golfers from Kenya, including renowned golfer Greg Snow and Michael Karanga, have arrived in Kigali for the tournament. Among other countries represented include Uganda, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe and host nation Rwanda. Rwanda will be relying on the likes of Celestine Nsanzuwera, who emerged as the first runner-up of the 19th Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional Golf Open in September 2024, to propel them to victory.
