Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced an increase in fuel prices, with gasoline now set at Rwf1,633 per litre and diesel at Rwf1,647 per litre. The revised prices take effect on Sunday, February 9, at 6 a.m. This adjustment reflects a rise from the previous rates set on October 7, 2024, when gasoline was priced at Rwf1,574 per litre and diesel at Rwf1,576 per litre. The new rates represent an increase of Rwf59 for gasoline and Rwf71 for diesel. According to RURA, the price hike is driven by fluctuations in global petroleum product prices. The next fuel price review is expected in April.
