Rwandan champions APR could battle for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 without star point guard Isaiah Miller who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Times Sport understands. Miller, 26, played a crucial role in helping APR retain the domestic league championship after overcoming Patriots in a 4-2 finals series victory, hence earning them an automatic ticket to represent the country at BAL. Times Sport understands that APR were counting on his services for the upcoming BAL games in May but he is unlikely to be available after picking up a serious knee injury while playing for the Austin Spurs in the NBA G League. So far, APR have alternative guards at their disposal including Adonis Filer who also made his return from injury after eight months, new boy Antino Jackson and Jean-Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza. However, the club still feels the need of a new guard to be able to compete favourably at the BAL. In 2024, Miller was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Rwandan Basketball League courtesy of his stellar performances during the playoffs which inspired APR to the championship. The 1.83m American guard previously featured in the NBA training camps with different teams including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz.
