Monday, February, 3 REG Vs Orion 6pm Orion Basketball Club has had a good start to the new season with impressive results signaling their intent of finishing in better positions in the Rwanda Basketball League. They take on high-flying Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in a rescheduled game on Monday, February 3, at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium. The pair’s fixture was originally set January 24 at Kepler Court but the game was postponed due to poor court conditions caused by rainfall. REG have so far won their first two games of the 2025 league season. They dominated AZOMCO 104-58 in the opening match before beating Espoir 92-58 on Saturday, February 1, at LDK Gymnasium. Meanwhile, Orion are on a 1-1 record in their last two games. Having lost their first game of the season against champions APR (71-85), they made a big statement on Saturday when they beat Kepler 87-81, a team that achieved the playoffs last season. South African center Pieter Prinsloo has also joined the squad, and these new additions have been performing well for the team. On the Orion side, French coach Chaignot Julien Fabian also brought in fresh talent at his disposal, including American guard Jeffery Tyrone, who scored 35 points in the game against Kepler. Other signings include shooting guard Elite Honore Shyengo who joined from UGB and Cameroonian star Belleck Engelbert who crossed over from REG.
