Kepler Volleyball Club have set the Heroes Cup final date against Rwanda Energy Group (REG) after winning the semifinal battle against APR held Petit Stade indoor gymnasium on Saturday, February 1. The teams had been neck and neck throughout the tournament, but Kepler rallied to the final after a hard fought victory in five sets (23-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22, 17-15). Kepler started strong in the first set, relying heavily on powerful serves and aggressive attacking plays. However, APR edged out their opponents in a closely contested set, claiming it 25-23. The second set saw Kepler make a determined push by introducing fresh players, including Diaz Herera, in a bid to shift momentum. Their efforts paid off with a 25-18 victory, thanks to effective attacks and improved defensive setups of coach Fidele Nyirimana. In the third set, APR elevated their game, demonstrating superior tactical awareness and squad depth, and went on the retain the lead after claiming the set 25-21. Kepler responded with composure and strategic precision in the fourth set, clinching it 25-22 to force a tiebreak. The decisive was a pulsating showdown, with both teams pushing their limits in pursuit of victory. Kepler emerged victorious 17-15, cementing their spot in the final. In the women's semifinal category, Police advanced to the final after defeating Kepler 3-1 (25-18, 15-25, 25-22, 25-16). They will play against APR who advanced to the final with a commanding 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-20) victory over Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA). The finals will take place on Sunday, February 2.
