Police Football Club skipper Eric Nsabimana is eager to help his team defend the Heroes Cup trophy ahead of Saturday’s final clash against APR FC at Amahoro Stadium. Police advanced to the final of the tournament after eliminating Rayon Sports with a 3-1 victory in a penalty shootout. Both teams had played a 2-2 draw in the regulation time. They will face APR who also booked a ticket to the final after beating AS Kigali 2-0 in the semifinals. We are ready to defend the trophy, our focus is to reclaim it again,” said Nsabimana. “All players are in good shape ahead of the game. This final is so tough and I know APR will come into the final, hungry to win the trophy as well but we will be ready to defend it.” ALSO READ: Police FC - APR FC book Heroes Cup final spots Police and APR are set for a Heroes Cup final rematch. The pair went up against each other in the 2024 final which ended in Police FC’s favour and Nsabimana, who will be playing against his former side for which he featured between 2012 and 2016, is aware their opponent will come into the game aiming for a revenge. “We are aware all the odds will be against us, but that is also a motivation for us. Obviously, APR want to beat us because we took the trophy away from them last year.” “We want to win it again and that’s exactly what makes this match a tough one on both sides,” he said.
