Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) has revoked the legal status of five faith-based organisations following assessments that found non-compliance with legal requirements. The decision was taken after RGB identified multiple issues affecting the operations of some organisations, including failure to adhere to laws, poor governance, and ongoing internal conflicts. The organisations are Rwanda Victory Mission, Pentecostal Out-Reach Church, International Missionary Society – Seventh Day Adventist Church Reform Movement, Eglise De L’heure Prophetique Du Septieme Jour, and Communaute Methodist Unie International. In a public notice released on Friday, January 31, RGB explained that the organizations in question were found to be in breach of various legal obligations. https://x.com/GovernanceRw/status/1885322186346443234 The board highlighted that the move comes as part of its efforts to ensure faith-based organisations operating in Rwanda maintain proper governance structures and comply with the law.
