Friday, January 31 AZOMCO Vs APR 6pm Patriots Vs UGB 8:30 pm Venue: LDK Gymnasium Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) resumes on Friday, January 31, when Patriots and United Generation Basketball (UGB) rub shoulders in a match that will take place at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium. Patriots started well under their new coach Sunny Niyomugabo, winning their first game of the season last weekend 89-64 against AZOMCO, while UGB struggled on the opening day with a narrow 67-71 loss to Kepler. Some of the players to watch ahead of Friday’s game are Frank Kamndoh who scored 18 points for Patriots in the opening game, while UGB will be looking to rely on the services of Gabriel Mwimba who also scored the same number of points in the league opener. APR started the campaign positively, beating Orion 85-71 in their first game, while AZOMCO endured a slow start to their debut season in topflight basketball. The team lost two games, including their opener against Patriots (64-89) before losing 58-104 against REG. Despite the recent losses, the teams picked positives from the qualities displayed by its key players where, for example, star forward Jarode Aworet scored 32 points in the two games.
