Rwandan artiste Christiane Bukuru, widely known as Boukuru, has earned a nomination for the prestigious Prix Découvertes RFI 2025, solidifying her place among Rwanda’s top vocalists and live performers. The announcement, made by RFI on Tuesday, January 28, revealed Boukuru as one of 10 finalists competing for the coveted award, which includes a 10,000-euro prize (approximately Rwf14.6 million), an African music tour, and a headline concert in Paris, France. The renowned Angélique Kidjo chairs this year’s jury and includes other respected artists and music industry professionals. Signed under the Metro Afro record label, Boukuru has been making waves locally and internationally, following the success of her debut album Gikundiro.
