Visit Rwanda, the country's flagship tourism initiative, on Tuesday, January 21, hosted a business cocktail in Paris, France in partnership with the Basketball Africa League (BAL), to highlight Rwanda as a premier destination for tourism and investment. Visit Rwanda is the major sponsor of the BAL. The cocktail was attended by key personalities including NBA star Pascal Siakam, BAL president Amadou Gallo Fall, NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi, and so on. The BAL perfectly aligns with this vision.” – Michelle Umurungi, Chief Investment Officer at Rwanda Development Board (RDB), told the officials who attended the event. In a speech that Gallo Fall made at the cocktail party, he noted that his team is proud of NBA Africa's journey in establishing a complete pathway for young basketball players with a passion for the game to access opportunities. Beyond sports, the BAL creates partnerships that support economic development,” he said. The Secretary General of Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo, was also in attendance. The fifth season of the BAL will tip off on April 5 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco and culminate with the finals on Saturday, June 14 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. A total of 12 African clubs will play 48 conference games in Rabat (Kalahari) Conference); Dakar, Senegal (Sahara Conference); Kigali, Rwanda (Nile Conference); and Pretoria (playoffs and finals).
