Former Gisagara Volleyball Club head coach Yakan Laurence Guma has landed a job as the new coach of Viore Nagoya WVC, a club that competes in the Japanese women's topflight. Guma left Gisagara VC before the start of the second phase of the 2024/25 Rwanda Volleyball League on January 17. Apart from his coaching credentials, Guma had an illustrious playing career. He was a pivotal player for the Rwanda national team and played a key role in Uganda’s OBB VC winning the 2022 Championship. His previous stint in Japan with Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler in the First Division Volleyball Championship provided him with the exposure that contributed to his new role.
