Saturday Patriots 83-78 REG APR 86-42 UGB Four-time champions Patriots, on Friday evening, beat bitter rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 83-78 to complete a double over them this season. Patriots’ small forward Dieudonné Ndizeye contributed a game high 19 points as his side overcame the defending champions to once again showcase that they are a force to reckon with. The Patriots won the first quarter 14-10 and drew the second one 25-25 to go into half time break leading on 35-39 points. In the second half, REG bounced back to claim the third quarter 26-22, but a combination of Kenny Gasana, Ntore Habimana and Kendall Gray put up effort to make sure the Patriots wins the last quarter on 22-17 and walk away with the victory. Bernard Olouch, the head coach of the Patriots said the win was a good step forward, and a boost for them. Besides Dieudonné Ndizeyes scoring exploits for Patriots, fellow players Ntore Habimana and Kendall Gray added 18 and 16 points respectively. Meanwhile, on the same day, APR beat United Generation Basketball (UGB) 86-42.
