TEAMS that will compete at the FIBA World Cup qualifiers second window have started to arrive in Kigali ahead of the much-anticipated showpiece slated for July 1-3. 8 African countries comprising Group A and B will be hosted in Kigali in a competition that will decide which country makes it to the FIBA World Cup 2023. Rwanda are in Group B alongside South Sudan, Cameroon and Tunisia, while Group A consists of Mali, Cape Verde, Uganda and Nigeria. Among the teams that have arrived in Rwanda so far is Cape Verde, South Sudan, and Cameroon. Tunisia is expected to jet in on Monday. The teams will be residing at La Palisse Hotel in Nyamata, while the national team will reside at Sainte Famille Hotel in Kigali. Meanwhile, the national team is set to return to the country after completing a training camp in Egypt, where they played three friendly games. In their first friendly game, Rwanda beat Uganda 84-45, lost the second one 58-69 to Egypt, and won the last one 61- 51 against Jordan.
