Perfect Weekend….with Natty Dread

Natty Dread is the living Bob Marley. He is a singer and songwriter who started exploring his music career in 1990. Over the past years, Natty has staged more than 250 concerts and shows in different countries across the world, including: France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Israel, Rwanda, Uganda, Ghana and U.S.A. Below, he takes us through what constitutes his perfect weekend: My perfect weekends include: relaxing in a good environment and eating delicious food with my children and friends. Whenever I don’t have a show to stage, often, my weekends begin on Friday evenings. I go home and decide with my family the weekend’s programme. If I’m in Kigali, my children and I will escape the city to Gisenyi, and spend the weekend at the beach. However, I don’t fancy swimming because I consider it as immoral for someone to reveal too much of the body in public. But, I will instead sit back and watch those swimming. On weekends, I normally wake up late depending on what time I slept. I also ensure I enjoy a heavy breakfast. Eggs, bread, tea and juice will be my choice for starting a Perfect Weekend. My favourite dishes are African foods. On weekends I make sure I visit a restaurant which offers an African dish. And for that matter, I wouldn’t miss to taste cassava, yams, matooke, pumpkins and sweat potatoes. And also greens, beans, ground-nuts, peas and beef, to have a balanced diet. I’m not a club fan, but I must be honest that I can be tempted to keep longer there if the DJ has nice selections. My favourite music is original reggae and salsa music.
