DStv For Business, a business wing of Pay TV company DStv, has announced landmark partnership with and Bars, Hotels and Liquor Traders Association (BAHLITA), tailored to meet diverse entertainment needs of its commercial segment customers. The partnership was launched during the 'DStv for Business Regional Conference' held in Kigali on Thursday, February 22. The three packages provide a wide range of audio and video channels to keep guests, patrons, employees, or customers entertained, informed, and engaged. According to Musa Huko, the Head of DStv For Business, the packages are designed to connect commercial customers in various industry sectors such as hotels, pubs and clubs, offices, guest houses, and serviced apartments. The goal, he said, is to help these businesses experience growth, better cash flows, and increased profits. “Many people in Rwanda are familiar with DStv but may not know about DStv For Business which caters to businesses of all sizes, including NGOs and other institutions,” Huko told The New Times. “It offers advantages such as accessing different content on multiple screens simultaneously using a single decoder, which is not possible with a residential decoder.” Unlike residential subscriptions, DStv For Business takes into account the ups and downs of businesses. If a subscription ends, they don't immediately disconnect the owners. “Businesses, especially bars and restaurants, can be influenced by seasonal fluctuations. For example, during the mid-season of football leagues, bars get more traffic, but when the season ends, some customers don't come as frequently,” he said. “DStv for Business understands this and provides flexibility in extending the payment time for businesses in such situations.” Regarding the cost, Huko assured that it depends on the size of the business and their clientele. “DStv For Business works with each business individually to discuss terms based on their specific circumstances and needs. The goal is to create a win-win situation where both the business and DStv for Business can grow together.” DStv For Business has been partnering with the Bar, Hotel, and Liquor Stores Association (BAHLITA) for over two years in Kenya, and they're extending their partnership to Rwanda. This partnership is a win-win situation which was welcomed by members of BAHLITA as it allows DStv to tap into the association's database to extend its services and provide value to its members. Especially for BAHLITA members, we talked with DStv, and they have created a special bouquet called 'BAHLITA Basic' just for them,” said BAHLITA Chairperson Simon Njoroge. “I urge businesses to join DStv For Business because they offer outstanding services that help businesses thrive in the services industry,” he added. Through this partnership, BAHLITA aims to create awareness about DStv for Business, highlight its benefits, and raise awareness about anti-piracy among its members. Njoroge believes that DStv can leverage BAHLITA's operations and footprint to expand DStv for business in Rwanda. BAHLITA was founded 22 years ago. Initially rooted in Kenya, it has now spread to other countries in Africa, including Tanzania, South Africa, Seychelles, Burundi, Ethiopia, DRC, Nigeria, Liberia, Zambia, Uganda, and Rwanda.
