Singer Tuyiringire on why he chose gospel music

Arsene Tuyiringire, aka Arsene Tuyi, is a talented gospel artiste who wears many hats. Apart from being a singer, Tuyiringire is also a student at University of Kigali, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Economics. But his journey has not been a smooth ride; in fact, the singer says that his first song received very little airplay, something that he says did not deter his enthusiasm for music. When asked why he chose to do gospel music, Tuyiringire said it gives him an opportunity to speak about the word of God on a bigger platform. “Since we were young, our mother taught us to love and worship God. So when I started singing, I said to myself that if I’m to do music, then that must be gospel, and I’ve promised myself to do gospel music forever,” he recollected. The young artiste has performed at different concerts across the country. With his family’s musical background, Tuyiringire is certainly destined to become a household name in this sector. Together with his twin brother, Tuyiringire is a choir member at Restoration Church Masoro, where his mother and elder brother Olivier Tuyishime are also members. He cites Planetshakers and Hillsong gospel groups from Australia, as his greatest inspiration in his career. Tuyiringire is currently working on a nine-track album, which will be released in March, this year.
