The top five finalists of the third edition of Hanga Pitchfest, Rwanda's largest tech startup competition, have been revealed ahead of the finals set to unfold at the Kigali Convention Center on December 8. It also provides predictive analytics and recommendations, aiding African small and medium enterprises in making informed decisions and optimising their operations. ALSO READ: Hanga Pitchfest, a path to innovation-led opportunities Loopa, another finalist, leverages Internet of Things (IoT) technology to optimise the conversion of food waste and other agricultural byproducts into nutrient-rich organic fertiliser, to assist farmers in transitioning from inorganic to organic fertiliser affordably while achieving higher yields. Also among the finalists is Umurava, a talent marketplace platform that enables companies to hire and outsource Africa's quality workforce specialised in the in-demand skills in digital media and marketing, research and data, and tech, as well as Dope Initiatives which focuses on sexual and reproductive health education using a game-based online quiz. Hanga PitchFest serves as a unique platform for showcasing the innovative spirit of tech entrepreneurs and creative talents from across the nation, with the aim of championing the use of technology and innovation in the Rwandan market.
