Short hair: Ways to rock it

Most women decide to keep their hair short or long depending on their preference – and probably, season. According to Ann Ntusarare, a hair stylist in Kimisagara, you don’t need to have long hair to find flexibility when styling. One can still be spoiled for choice with short-do hairstyles. Ntusarare says that with short hair, one can try out almost anything, from braids to weaves, cornrows to afro, short curls to a simple cut and etcetera. “Most women who keep their hair short tend to believe that the only way to look good is to wear one style. You should not stick to one look just because you have short hair, experiment a little,” says Ntusarare. She adds that one should not rush to throw on a wig in the name of breaking the monotony of having the same hair style. Ntusarare highlights different ways women can be adventurous with short hair. •If you must wear a weave, opt for a weave that only covers one of your head. Leave one side with short hair, like superstar Rihanna does from time to time. It is a very stylish hairstyle. •For the not-so-short hair, blow it out and wear an afro. The bigger the better. It will give you that 60’s/70’s look. •Play around with colour - apply brown or gold – maybe even a deep red, maroon, or indigo twist to your hair. This will give your hair an edgy look. •For a punk/rock star look (and this is for the truly daring ones), shave both sides of your head to almost nothing and leave hair in the middle; this is commonly referred to as a Mohawk. •You can also don short dreads, but temporary of course. Apply a colour of your choice to the tips to give it an appealing look. •Lastly, you can never go wrong with braids. On a day when you are tired of short hair, just braid!
