Cogebanque Rwanda Plc rewarded the top two graduates from INES Ruhengeri University’s latest group of graduates. For the 15th time, INES Ruhengeri College of Science has sent off 827 freshly graduated individuals into the workforce. These graduates possess a diverse array of majors and programs, including Master’s degrees. It was attended by private sector members, diplomatic representatives, friends, family, and others. ALSO READ: How Cogebanque’s ‘SchoolGEAR’ payment method benefits users The Chief Executive Officer of Cogebanque, Guillaume Habarugira Ngamije, urged the graduates to broaden their horizons, think big, take responsibility, and maintain the pursuit of knowledge even in life after university. “We think highly of you, and the organisations you are yet to join will be lucky to have you. You are now going to learn new necessary skills that will complement what you learned during your time in school in order to produce ample results needed at work. Hopefully, you will keep your learning spirit,” he said. Among the 827 graduates, 449 [54.3%] are female, 378 [45.7%] are male, and 20 of them are from foreign countries. Carine Karerwa, who was the top scorer, with a Master’s Degree in Microfinance, was congratulated by Cogebanque Bank for an outstanding performance in her area of study. In an interview, she said, “I’m filled with happiness, and this gesture carries great significance to me. I’m sure that seeing me get recognised will inspire other students to work just as hard in school, so I hope the bank continues to support students like me.” “Even though it is the ultimate aim, to increase their knowledge so that they can be a valuable addition to the labour market, it’s a different kind of recognition, what Cogebanque does and should continue,” she added. Agnes Wambaire Wangai from Kenya, also one of the top graduates, with a Master’s in Taxation, exclaimed, “I thought the grand prize was just a computer, but I was nicely surprised by the additional money, one million francs that came with it.
