African top celebrities are already jetting in Rwanda for the highly anticipated Trace Awards and Festival that kicks off today, October 20, with an opening ceremony party at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV). International stars already in Kigali include Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi, South African ‘Jerusalema’ hitmaker Nomcebo Zikode, Nigeria's Rema, Joao Richardo from Portugal, Angolan model Maria Borges, Tanzanian singer Jux and Nigeria’s D’ Banj. Others artistes are South African gospel singer Benjamin Dube, Nigeria's Yemi Alade, Nadia Mukabi from Kenya, Uganda's Levixone, Kelce and Locko from Cameroon, and South African record producer Musa Keys. The highly anticipated three-day festival will take place at Kigali Convention & Exhibition Village (KCEV) on October 20-22, while the Trace Awards, which is the highlight of the festival, will stage on Saturday, October 21, at BK Arena. The event is also in line with the 20th anniversary of Trace, the global music powerhouse and Afro-music tastemaker, which has played a big role in boosting Africa’s music industry in the last two decades and the biggest export of Afro-music. ALSO READ: Explainer: What you should know about Trace Awards & Festival in Rwanda Hosted by one of the pioneers of the Afrobeats genre, Dbanj, and Angolan supermodel Maria Borges, Trace Awards will be headlined by Africa’s finest musicians including Davido, Asake, Olamide, Kiss Daniel, Rema, and Diamond Platnumz, all who are nominated in multiple categories of the awards. The likes of Bruce Melodie, Bwiza and Chriss Eazy, who are among the leading music stars in Rwanda, will share the stage with Nigeria’s Davido and Rema at the Trace Awards. Many other Rwandan artistes will also be given a chance to shine at the Trace Festival including Maestro Boomin, Ish Kevin, Kenny K-Shot, Sema Sole, Angell Mutoni, Boy Chopper, Mike Kayihura, Tsonpa, Hottempah Collective, DJ Fans-T, DJ Higa, DJ Rusam, and DJ Ira.
