Rwanda to market business potential at Poland- Africa trade congress

Over 70 local investors will attend the Poland -Africa trade congress in Poland on November 27. The two day Congress will also attract business experts, leaders and policy makers from Nigeria, Angola, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa and Algeria among other countries. Francine Umutesi, the Poland-Africa Partnership and Co-operation international relations executive, said the congress seeks to promote development of business relations between Poland and Africa, including countries covered by the Polish government “GO AFRICA” programme. “The Congress recognises the potential, and attractiveness of all African countries, and seeks to give them better access to the European market in order to increase their competitiveness and enjoy benefits of increased trade volume, Umutesi, noted. Participants will also explore challenges that small and medium (SME) companies face in light of their development and improving the quality and competitiveness of their products and services. Geoffrey Kamanzi, the head of trade negotiations and facilitation at the Private Sector Federation, said that the trade congress is an opportunity for local investors to market their potential, learn and share experiences with their counterparts across the globe. “The Congress will be attended by representatives of the Polish government and the governments of African states as well as national investment agencies, representatives of local government and business organisations, ambassadors of African countries and entrepreneurs from Africa and Poland. It will also include an expo where Polish and African companies will show their offer and opportunities. This therefore gives us an opportunity to market our products,” Kamanzi noted.
