The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Didier Shema Maboko, has been suspended from his duties by President Paul Kagame. A statement issued by Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente on Friday, September 16, did not specify why the official was suspended. The suspension took immediate effect. Maboko has served in this position for nearly three years now, having been appointed on November 2019. He has previously worked in different capacities Maboko in the sports sector including as a technical director in the national basketball federation, FERWABA. He is also a former international basketball umpire.
