Bugesera FC’s deputy skipper Vincent Adams maintains that the departure of star striker, Sadick Sulley, is having an adverse effect on the team. Sulley who was the club’s top scorer in the 2021/22 season, with nine goals, left for Spain in July. His strike partner Abdul Muniru also moved to Enugu Rangers, in Nigeria. Bugesera have played two games this season and lost, against Kiyovu and Gasogi, without scoring a goal. Adams admits the team urgently needs a goal poacher. “It showed on Tuesday against Gasogi in Kigali that we desperately need a striker because we are struggling and not getting the win,” Adams told Times Sport. “ Sulley’s move to Europe has affected us because he was the club’s top scorer during the 2021/22 season and we don’t have replacement. His strike partner Abdul Muniru also moved from Bugesera.” In all, Sulley netted 11 goals the previous season, nine of them in the league and two in the Peace Cup. Muniru also banged in four in the league and six in the Peace Cup. Bugesera are expected to hit the transfer market in January 2023 to look for a potent goal scorer to lead their attack.
