So the story of Bill Gates and Mark Zukerburg dropping out of school and making it to the billionaires list is all around school. These being my role models, I decided to do it their way. I got my tuition and started a shop with a vision of having a clothing line in the future and finally hitting the young billionaires Forbes list, at least in Rwanda. I lay down my vision, mission and goals and to me they seemed tangible. First, I would go to Uganda and get a couple of second hand clothes which would get me an incredibly high profit. Okay, please don’t ask me about taxes. I mean, I am just a starter. Things were all going as planned; I started seeing the future so bright in my face. But did I tell you what I used the profit for? I bought a new phone that was stolen just last week. I believe you already know where the business is now. In my head. It wasn’t until all the clothes were sold out and I didn’t have a coin to buy more that I realised that school is actually a very good option for someone like me. I packed my belongings and run out of the shop before the landlord came for his rent. Now I had to look for fees. Good thing I had been studying and doing some tests so I didn’t have a lot to cover. The money though, was still a problem. Exams started getting close and I was sweating like a pig out of panic. Then, I watched another movie and started fantasising about being a drug lord for about three months just to get my fees back and also remain with some money to buy fancy things like phones maybe. I hit the street and started looking for people who sell drugs. There are as if none in Rwanda. I was just about to give up when I meet this guy who looked like one, I asked him and he gave me a number of someone he claimed needed a middle man to deal with his buyers. I hurried there and when we talked, he asked me to go to his home dressed in black with a cap on. If you want to know what happened next, maybe give me a call later because today I am nursing my bottom. I was beaten up by some man who is a father and wanted to instill some discipline in me. He even promised to follow up on me and my studying. In case you know him, please don’t show him this article.
