Alfred Mukezapfura, the Speaker of Parliament has called for order and discipline ahead of the September parliamentary elections.

Mukezapfura made the call on his visit to Musanze district where he met members of the, Centrist Democratic Party (PDC) to brief them on the kind of conduct expected of them. Over 100 PDC members attended the meeting.

Mukezapfura who is also affiliated to the PDC, said that consultations on political matters will make members of any political group respect their developmental commitments and uphold proper code of conduct.

"There is need for order and discipline among the electorate in order to ensure smooth exercise in the forthcoming parliamentary election,” he said.

Names of the candidates of each particular party who will contest in the elections will be forwarded to the electoral commission.

Members noted that consultative meetings help shape the electoral process unlike in the past when politics was marred with divisions instead of competitive politics.
