Cropping the right way

I have heard several men make fun of women dressed in cropped sweaters, saying that they borrowed the brief clothing items from their daughters or younger sisters.

I have heard several men make fun of women dressed in cropped sweaters, saying that they borrowed the brief clothing items from their daughters or younger sisters.

I found it very funny the first time but I have to say that cropped tops, sweaters and jackets have been in vogue for the longest time.

Many have used the style as an accessory to blend an outfit; while others have misused the trend, making it tacky and an insult to the person who came up with the design.

Cropped sweaters and jackets are usually worn with strapless maxi dresses because some women want to cover their bra straps. Colourful cropped sweaters also bring out an outfit.  For instance, if one is dressed in a black maxi dress and blends it with a colourful cropped sweater, the outfit becomes livelier.

However, for an outfit to be ‘off the hook’, one needs a fitting cropped top. There are cropped sweaters available for all sizes; long sleeved or elbow-length sleeves, so there is no need to wear ones that seem too small for you.

They also do wonders on a vest with jeans or leggings.
