Hakizimana makes bright start in Abu Dhabi Golf Open

Rwanda's lead professional golfer Jean Baptiste Hakizimana registered a brilliant start on the first day of the Abu Dhabi Golf Citizen Open which started on Sunday at Saadiyat Golf Club.Hakizimana shot a total of four over par 76 in the opening round of the fourth stage of the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Golf Tour in the United Arab Emirates. On the first day, England’s Stuart Archibald shot three under par 69 with Italian Roberto Rodriguez Cacho and Portugal’s Stephen Ferreira all shooting one under par 71 for a share of the second place.Uganda’s Deo Akope and Dennis Aguyo shot five and ten over par respectively on day one. Hakizimana is trying to make amends in the Abu Dhabi Golf Citizen Open as he missed the cut in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic tour last week. The Rwandan golfer shot a total of ten over par 154 in the first two rounds to bow out of the MENA Golf Tour money spinning places.
