Is it normal for a baby to have only two teeth when 11 months old?

Dear Doctor; My baby is 11 months old now but she is yet to grow more than just the two lower front teeth. Yet my neighbour’s baby, two months younger, has all her front upper and lower teeth out already. Is my baby okay? Mother.

Dear Doctor; My baby is 11 months old now but she is yet to grow more than just the two lower front teeth. Yet my neighbour’s baby, two months younger, has all her front upper and lower teeth out already. Is my baby okay? Mother.Dear Mother, If your baby has already grown two teeth, I think she does not have disorders of dentition like malnutrition, hypothyroidism or hypoparathyroidism or genetic defects. The growth and development of children varies on individual basis and it may not necessarily follow the exact period theoretically. If the child is healthy, eats and sleeps well, is not cranky or irritable all time, there is nothing to worry. You can give him some supplements of calcium and vitamin D  on advise of a dentist or paediatrician.
