Next year’s national soccer league hopefuls Musanze had their league action hopes dented when they were trounced 3-1 by Military Police at Kanombe grounds.

The Ruhengeri based side will have its work cut out when the host Military Police tomorrow.

As  Musanze was losing, things were looking better for  Electrogaz FC who produced their best performance crushing  Aspor 4-0 in the first leg of the semi final of this year’ second division national league at Kicukiro grounds.

Two goals from man-of-the-match Simeon Niyoshuti, Dieudonne Kayiranga and Abedi Muvunyi clinched a memorable win for the national utility company.

Electrogaz’s victory increased their chances of qualifying to next year’s national league and reduced on their tasks for the second leg qualifier at Camp Kigali grounds tomorrow.

Musanze and Electrogaz were the favorites for the rise given the duo’s impressive showing in the earlier stages.

Two teams will be eyeing  championship spots in the final that is set to be played at Amahoro National stadium on Wednesday.

The two finalists replace Umurabyo, Espoir, Jeunesse and Zebres who have been relegated from the national league. Only 12 clubs will compose the 2007/08 National Football League.
