The Northern Province football giants, Marine landed points by default over La Jeunesse to guarantee themselves 2008 Primus league action.

Marine who were supposed to play their final game in their backyard coolly registered maximum points when La Jeunesse failed to show up for the tie which was supposed to wrap up the 2007 league.

The victory pushed Marine to 30 points, three ahead of Umurabyo, one of the other sides  that faced relegation.
Marine’s victory left the Rwamagana based side relegated to the second division league.

Following Wednesday’s win, Marine advanced to ninth position on the Primus league table.

Marine had shared their points with Atraco on Monday after a 2-all draw at Shorongyi grounds.

Meanwhile, La Jeunesse, Espoir, Zebres and Umurabyo have dropped down into the second division.

APR won the 2006/07 Primus league on level 59 points with a wide goal difference over Rayon Sport.
